I am a poor college student trying to knit her way to each semesters tuition.
I currently live in Las Vegas, NV though I am originally from Anchorage, AK. I live with my boyfriend, and our growing fur family; Dixie (black Schnauzer), Allie (white Schnauzer) and the Buhunkis (large, and I mean LARGE, Maine Coon). I love to travel, and have spent the last four years since I left Alaska taking as many short jaunts to new places as possible. So far Ft. Collins, CO and New Orleans, LA are my two favorite places I have visited.
I have been in college actively for the last four years, starting at a private art school for interior design, moving to a community college for business, then changing to sociology, briefly back to art and once again have settled on sociology.
I currently teach and work at Knit Las Vegas the finest yarn shop in the Las Vegas Valley. I teach a variety of classes but my favorites are my sock classes and entrelac. If you are ever in Las Vegas you should stop by and say hi, I love meeting new people and always enjoy putting faces to names.
I love to knit more than anything else and I spend the majority of my spare time, energy and cash on knitting. I am particularly fond of cables, ribbing and creating small wonderful things for my dogs to model. I like new and interesting patterns, and love to tweak and man handle patterns to make them uniquely my own. I’ve begun designing my own items recently and hope to create some patterns to share with other people.
I also enjoy crochet, sewing, beading, amateur photography, embroidery and baking.
