The depths of my madness
In the sway of allergy medications, the ‘Tussin, a freshly stocked yarn stash (thank God for JoAnns big summer sale!) I made a dog shrug.
Yes, I said DOG SHRUG.
I’ve made three of the full sized thing, why not make a dog sized one? Plus, it means they don’t get their chest hair all matted. And quite frankly, anyone who owns a dog with long hair knows what a pain it can be to try to brush the underbelly of an animal with matted hair. So, without further ado:
And the details:
2×2 ribbing on the sleeve cuffs
Reverse stockinette for a textured look to the collar and bottom band. Even though my dogs are adorable in this, I put it up for sale in my Etsy Shop. I can make more, and they wouldn’t be able to wear this for a few more months anyway, since we live in the desert.
I’m not feeling well, I’m having some kind of allergic reaction to something. I don’t know what it is that I’m reacting too, but it burns when I breathe, I’ve got hives and I’m all sneezy. Benadryl helps but…evidently makes me loopy enough to think dog shrugs are the future of puppy couture.
Well, I’m riding the high because I’m already making a little Chihuahua sized green one with the left over Blue Skies Alpaca I got in Anchorage.

I think you need to send a link to the Hilton sisters, and Oprah, too. They are avid dog accessories fanatics. The dog shrug actually makes since. It’s easier to get on and off the dog. Can be used to cover injuries, rashes, etc. And, they look good too.
