Thursday Scavenger Cue!

Filed in blog posts

Happy Thursday all! So today you’re looking for an article on Handmadenews.org about time management, decluttering, organization or workspace environments. There’s no specific department for these types of things, though I’ve seen several articles that cover these concepts all over the site. Shouldn’t be too hard to find.

So far NO ONE has asked for their extra entries for plurking, tweeting or blogging about this contest yet. What are you guys waiting for?!? It’s free entries essentially! All you have to do is mention this contest (and link to it) on any of your social networking sites, then let me know and you’ll get an extra entry into the contest.

We’re going to have more than one winner too, by the way since several of the lovely ladies of the Inspiration Department have offered up goodies from their own shops. So, please tell people about this, we WANT to give you guys free stuff! C’mon, what’s better than free stuff? Nothing. If you promote this on your twitter simply add @danidocrafty to your tweet and I’ll see that you did it. Blogs and plurks require you to email me the URL link.

I really hope you all are enjoying the new articles up on HandMadeNews.org every day. I’m thrilled to be apart of this team and I love reading my fellow columnists insights each day. That in mind, let me give myself a tiny little plug here too: I’ve got a new article up in my New Pathways to Inspiration series that you may want to check out.

I keep meaning to tweet and get so busy in the evenings when I get home from work! I’ll get on it ;)

For today, the article I found on organization/decluttering that I most identify with (which is why I chose it!) is Tips for Tidying Up Your Crafting Space (http://www.handmadenews.org/article/index.php?id=88) because honestly, I need all the help I can get. I so want my own separate space for crafting – it ends up being at the computer desk, on the dining room table, on the coffee table, etc. Recently we got me a great portable storage container because I’m constantly all over the house working on stuff. This article has great tips for when we move and I have a room just for crafting. I seriously need as many tips as I can get. I really want an organized and clutter-free space instead of the mess I call a crafting space at home currently!

  2. I love Organizing Your Craft Space (https://www.handmadenews.org/article/index.php?id=1218), probably because I have been trying to do that myself. The best part is when you find supplies that you forgot about! Maybe it’s yarn headed for the dyepot or that little baggie of beads that needs to go live with its friends. In any case, you can be more productive when you don’t spend your time searching for things. I ended up making ‘kits’ – matching yarns that go together for a couple of hats that I’ll soon be knitting!

I actually found this article on the first day of your challenge and was so excited about the idea of organizing my sewing room, I printed it and hung it on the wall (to remind me to get my butt in gear!).

I have a TON of fabric. A whole dresser full. I need to better organize it so I have room for more (my husband says I should use it, but we all know men don’t understand….). So I hope this technique will help me get my yards of fabric under control. I love the site, and it is so much fun looking around on there. I get lost for hours. :) Thanks for the fun contest!

I loved the organizational posts! I ended up getting my butt in gear and spent a good 3 hours this afternoon working on a couple of rooms in the home organizing (and creating a yard sale pile as well, xtra cash!!)

Ps i blogged a link to you!
