You guys are the best.
The Sick Puppy sale has only been going on since yesterday morning. I haven’t really promoted it in any major way, just word of mouth and asked my friends at Phat Fiber to help me out. My shop is nearly cleaned out. The response has been amazing and you guys have really helped make sure that I can continue to feed myself AND take care of my little dogs. Right now the shop is pretty bare because I’ve sold all of the carded fiber I had and several hanks of yarn as well. I will be carding more batts and hopefully dying more yarn this week to put up in the shop by this weekend. Fingers crossed.
PupWatch ‘09 Update: Allie went to our regular vet yesterday morning and he checked her out, reaffirmed what we already knew but took her off the anti inflammatory that the ER vet had put her on. It was fine for a few days, but is dangerous long term because it could damage her liver. She came home from the vet and seemed to be doing a little better, still tired and obviously in pain, but her little ears would perk up every once in awhile and she was moving around a little more. We have been trying to ply her with any kind of food possible to get her to eat, she only eats a few bites at a time and then goes and lays back down. This was worrisome but we figured it was the antibiotics upsetting her stomach or it was still painful to chew/swallow. She was drinking plenty of water and eating a little bit.
This morning however we had to take her back to the vet. She had blood in her mouth and was spitting up blood. We’re not sure where the blood is coming from but we think she may have ruptured her abscess. She’s at the vet right now with my mother in law (while I’m laying in bed with Dixie Lee who is not handling her sister being sick very well at all.) we’re waiting to hear back from the vet. UPDATE: Allie has to stay at the vet overnight. Her abscess isn’t ruptured, but she is bleeding internally. We need to figure out why and where. We think it may be the medication she was on that irritated her stomach lining or bowels but we won’t know for sure until some tests come back.
We’re all on pins and needles trying to figure out what is wrong with our baby girl. The outpouring of love and well wishing has been incredible and I want to thank everyone who has kept Allie in their thoughts and send their good wishes. It’s terrible having a sick animal, they can’t tell you what hurts or how bad.
Again; thank you.

Oh no
“It’s terrible having a sick animal, they can’t tell you what hurts or how bad.” This is so true, and is the hardest part about when our babies are sick. Winston told me to tell you to tell Allie he’s thinking of her (and I am too!) We’ll be keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers. GET WELL SOON ALLIE! (and special hugs to Dixie since I’m sure it’s hard on her, too!)
