My perfect sock would be toe up. I say that because I am dying to do a toe-up sock… I’ve only ever done cuff down and so I’d love a simple toe-up sock pattern instead! I like enough stockinette to keep me in my comfort zone, but I love having enough simple lace and/or cables (loooove cables) along the way to keep me from falling asleep while I knit. I’d go with a heel flap style heel, too. I never like the look of a truly variegated yarn with the way it pools unless it’s a heathered yarn, so I’d want something that was good for more plain-ish yarns. Or self-striping sock yarns are ok, too.
