Handle Sweater (it’s NOT a cozy)

US6 needles
DK weight wool (pictured in some mystery yarn that was roughly DK weight)
3 buttons
Darning needle and thread for buttons
Directions:
CO 20 sts
Knit 4 rows (garter stitch)
Row 5: k2,yo,k2tog, knit to end (this is the button hole row)
Row 6: purl
Knit 4 rows in stockinette (knit one row, purl next) in between button hole rows.
Work until you have three button holes.
Knit 4 rows garter stitch.
Sew on buttons to correspond with button holes. Weave in ends.

This is the best solution for hot teapots that I have found on the web! The problem with tea-cosies is mostly that the teapot after that wiggles across the table, wilst now there is no such disadvantage! I am definatly going to try it out tomorrow!
